Poetry: Whose Grave
by Liam
Above a grave, life still ruffles in the breeze
Green, leaves cast shade upon your gone gaze
While my living roots entangle your coffin in an embrace
To share in the dream you left
I live, I trace
I ponder life beneath the shady bower
Not time, nor hour, but the power to have made you crumble
To the dust from which my growth now flows
To sprout, to bud then leaf and know
Without a doubt, will hold this insight with a branch
Life’s seeds to share
One chance to germinate
Give it truth, Give it hope
Grow then pick the fruit of hope, of care, of love
But bury despair
Deep in that coffin there.
